Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the state, generating wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both regions.
