As bewildering as it is to watch the leader seek to颠覆 the traditional concept of democracy and replace it with its complete opposite, there is one large group within America who might not perceive it completely novel. That encompasses people such as ourselves – in older age cohorts almost a majority – who were brought up as mainline Protestant Christians.
We have observed throughout the years as rightwing evangelical churches converted the Savior we were raised with into the total contrary of who we understood him to be. Essentially, they converted a persona of love into an icon of hate who approves exactly the harshness that he condemned in the Gospel; this change developed more gradually, over decades as opposed to months, however it is still disturbing via comparable methods, a confusing personal impact for countless people.

The country is optimally secured, in other words, through connection to the best in US heritage, just as Christianity is most protected by reference to that which renders it special and magnificent, particularly the pattern of the Savior.
